Our favourite summer hair styles have to be beach waves and fishtail braids, so we absolutely loved this style we came across on Pinterest combining the two!

To get the look, create a beach wave effect in your hair. To do this, spray some salt spray concentrating on the ends of the hair and scrunch the hair up with your hands. Some people prefer to spray this on dry hair, while others prefer to spray on damp hair and let it dry naturally so it all depends on what works best on your hair.

Once dried, try not to run your fingers through your hair too much as it may cause it to become frizzy, so spray a little hairspray to lock the style in place.

The beach wave is perfect on its own but if you’d like your hair back off your face, the the half fishtail braid is a gorgeous style.

Take the two side front sections of hair and bring around the back of the head. This is where you will begin the fishtail braid. Tie it in a pony tail first, this will help keep it secure as you plait this section. Split the pony tail in two, and then take one small piece from the left section (at the back/underneath) and cross over to join to the right section. Then take a piece from the right section (again from the back/underneath) and cross over to join the left section. Repeat this all the way down, tie with a clear elastic, and take out the top hair tie that you used to secure the ponytail.

To make the plait a little messy, gently pull the plait apart to create more texture and make it loose.

And there you have a perfect beachy look!
