Hair tips for the annual Christmas party

by

Christmas party season has arrived and making a statement at the annual office do is a must.

The annual Christmas party is always the perfect opportunity to get glammed up so it’s important you have your hair in the best condition possible so it’s ready to style.  A lot of people do go for a salon visit but nowadays there’s so many ways to achieve elegant and creative hairstyles at home. Not only that but it means you can learn how to create different looks whenever you want to.

This year it’s time to ditch the tinsel accessories and cancel the trip to the salon, we’re sharing our hair tips to help you achieve the perfect look for the Christmas party.

1. Hair hydration

Before the party arrives, it’s important to make sure your hair is in good condition so it’s ready to style. Treat your hair to a hydration mask a few days before the do. Hydration masks work wonders for locks in any condition to moisturise and soften the hair.

2. Knowing your hair

When preparing for a glam event, some wash their hair on the day as it’s easier to style when soft and fresh. For others, washing hair a couple of days before is better because it’s not too silky and easier to keep in place. Do what’s best for your hair.

3. Prep your hair before styling

Make sure you have all your products ready. If you’re applying heat then protecting locks is essential. Use a heat protection spray to avoid damaging your hair.

4. Pin straight hair

If opting for a straight hair look, use a good hair straightener that won’t kink and will keep hair glossy. After straightening hair, a good serum to manage stray hairs is the best way to make the style set.

5. Waved locks

If you want to achieve curled or even waved locks then the answer is a good curling wand. Wrap your hair around the iron for several seconds and then drop it. For tight curls, continue with this process around the head of hair.

If you’re looking for more relaxed waves then do the same thing but run your fingers through your hair. Finish up by using a firm hairspray to hold hair in place.

6. Hair buns

As it’s the Christmas party you may want to go for a slightly different look. An up-do always airs elegance at a glamorous event but can often be hard to achieve. That’s where hair buns can come in and offer a helping hand. They’re easy to put in and can offer a different dimension to hair at a very affordable price.

7. Clip in fringes

If a bun isn’t right for you and you’d rather keep your hair down, then a clip-in fringe is the way to achieve a statement look. Go for a bold and blunt fringe or even a set of bangs to change your look and surprise your colleagues.
