Cute & Adorable Ponytail Ideas for Long Hair

by

If, like me, you’re a lover of wearing your hair down, but can get a little bored of the same old looks, day in and say out – you might just be in need of a little inspiration. As much as I prefer to wear my hair down, I know that I’m just lacking technique when it comes to tying it back and styling the perfect on-point ponytail.

So, in order to shake things up ahead of summer and gets some long hair inspiration out there, I’ve come up with a few ideas that could refresh ponytail inspiration in a flash…

1. Sleek Ponytail

The slicked back look is trending right now and it’s so easy to achieve. Add in some product, brush back your hair and secure as high as you can go. Not only will you look chic, but a sleek high pony always adds an added oomph to your cheekbones. What more could you want?

2. Ponytail Braid

Do you love the gorgeous summer style boho look of braids? I know I do! Braided crowns are my absolute favourite and although I do wear my hair down with them, they look so much better when my hair is tied back. If you’re not that great at creating a braid, fear not, you can add in a headband and fake it instead!

3. Fake Ponytail

Speaking of faking it… I’ve tried extensions, but now that my hair is long, I really don’t need them on a day to day basis. But, that being said, I’m always up for trying new styles, looks and techniques… so many now it’s time for me to fake it with a fab hair piece. Ponytails are a great way to add volume and texture to your tied-back hair, especially if you have fine hair like mine.

4. Accessorise It

If you want to get your hair out of your face but you’re not all that keen on the way it looks, or feel like your face needs a little something extra, why not accessorise it? Adding a little glitz and glamour with a barrette might be all you need to give your style a new lease of life.

5. Backcombed Ponytail

If sleek and sexy isn’t your style but you’re looking to add a little something extra, then why not backcomb your pony? Tie it up and get to work with your comb. Fix with hairspray and you’ll have the perfectly done, un-done ponytail ready to rock.

6. Bump It

If you love to wear your hair back but struggle when it comes to volume, why not bump it up a little with the help of a secret crown? It’s so easy to add into your style and no one ever has to know!

7. Prep It

Have you ever wondered why some girls can have those perfectly styled, un-styled ponytails that you can never achieve? Well, they kind of don’t exist. If you’re trying to make your ponytail look effortless with no effort, it won’t work. To make your ponytail look like you’ve just thrown it up, you’ll need to prep it up. Tie it back, pull it about, scrunch it up and tighten again. It seems like a lot of work and it is, but it makes for the best results.
