Get the Look: Blake Lively

Blake Lively was the stand out star at this year’s Cannes Film Festival and this has to be one of our favourite looks. On damp hair, spray Sexy Hair Dense Thickening Spray and blow dry hair – this will give the volume that Blake’s hair always has.

The key to Blake’s voluminous braid is hair extensions to give the extra thickness and length to make sure the braid stays long. Create a small ponytail in the centre of the head, leaving hair from the outside hairline surrounding the whole ponytail. Using I&K clip in hair extensions, take each piece and clip it around the base of the small ponytail. Add as many as you feel you need. Next take the hair that you left out and create a ponytail combining the original small ponytail. This will hide all of the clips.

Next braid the ponytail down to the end and tie with a clear elastic. Gently tug at the braid to make it a little looser and large which will give the thick appearance like Blakes. Spray the hair with Tigi Masterpiece to keep it in place and to keep the ponytail sleek.

It’s all about the eyes with Blake’s makeup so to keep your eyes the focus, use a bronze shade from the New CID eye shadow quad in shimmy shimmy and take it all over the lid. Use the lighter colour to highlight the brow bone and inner corners and line both the upper and lower waterline right into the corners of the eye to create a dramatic effect using Daniel Sandler Long Lasting Waterproof Eyeliner in black velvet.

Finally, add lashings of mascara such as New CID I-flutter Mascara for volume and length.
